Aug15 Grey Likes: Dana Tanamachi 2012

I’ve been wondering for a while where the chalkboard trend in interiors is going. I’d been feeling a bit ambivalent about the whole thing lately and reconsidering a few chalk pieces in my own home. That is, until I discovered Dana Tanamachi.

Dana Tanamachi is chalk letterer and graphic designer living in Brooklyn. Her work is unreal, don’t you agree? Her artwork is everywhere from storefronts to the cover of O Magazine. She has fully restored my faith in the pure awesomeness that is chalk art.

Be sure to check out this time lapse video to get a full picture of how she brilliantly crafts each piece.

And last but not least, you can have a piece of Dana’s work in your own home by snagging a set of these adorable alphabet paperweights she created for West Elm – and they’re totally on sale.

A little later today we’ll be back with a roundup of some of our favorite ways to incorporate chalkboards into your spaces!
